Dong Thap province

The conference was organized by Agricultural Products Processing and Market Development Department, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, in collaboration with Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap and Soc Trang provinces.

In Dong Thap, representatives of An Hoa Safe Agricultural Production Cooperative (Chau Thanh District), Ngoc Phung Food Company Limited (Cao Lanh City) introduced their products and wished to associate with businesses to sell products.

According to statistics, the whole province of Dong Thap has more than 5.340 hectares of longan growing; the annual output is estimated at more than 53.000 tons. In Chau Thanh district - the province that grows the most longan in the province, there are more than 3.660 hectares. It is expected that from now to the end of the year, the whole province will have 1.230 hectares of longan to harvest with an output of more than 11.600 tons.

Along with longan, Dong Thap province also has many other agricultural products that need to be connected to consumption such as sweet potato, pangasius, rice, mango, lemon, guava, tangerine, jackfruit, plum, dragon fruit, etc. In addition, there are 160 OCOP products of the province from 3 stars to 4 stars are in demand for connection and consumption.

In Soc Trang province, longan growing area is 3.130 ha, producing 2.536 ha. Harvest time is from July to December with an output of about 24.400 tons.

At the end of the conference, there were 03 Memorandum of Understanding signed, of which Dong Thap province had 02 Memorandum of Understanding. Specifically, Dong Thap Provincial Trade, Tourism and Investment Promotion Center will represent Hong Thai Production Service Trading One Member Limited Liability Company (Sa Dec city), Nguyen Hau Company Import-Export Joint Stock (Chau Thanh district) signed a cooperation agreement with Vietnam Agricultural Trade Promotion Joint Stock Company.
