Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Mr. Pham Thien Nghia and Professor, Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – Rector of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City signed a memorandum of cooperation

After the first cooperation agreement in October 2017, the two sides had exchanges and coordinated implementation of a number of cooperation contents and achieved some specific results in university and postgraduate training as well as coordinating scientific research under the orders of Dong Thap province. That was such an important practical basis for the two sides to adjust and supplement cooperation contents in the coming period.

Specifically, the content of this cooperation agreement signing focuses on such areas as human resource training and development, coordination of science and technology activities, and consulting and criticism for programs and policies, plans for socio-economic development of Dong Thap province in the coming period.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested provincial relevant departments to soon take the initiative and coordinate with the University to implement the work agreed by the two sides; especially, those that have an impact, directly related to the province's socio-economic development orientation such as transforming the rural economy, building a circular economy model, green economy, and digital economy with locally produced practice.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hoped that the cooperation agreements would create a new and firm foundation for the two sides to promote and implement many cooperation contents, bringing practical results contributing to the socio-economic development of Dong Thap province and raising the level of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.

According to Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the Council of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, he pointed that the university shall coordinate to train human resources for Dong Thap province in the field of environment, urban planning; post-graduate training in the field of public policy to develop the capacity of policy analysis and consult for the provincial staff; synthesizing and generalizing significant models in Dong Thap province as experience for others to study and etc.
