Mr. Dang Thuan Phong highly appreciated the proactive spirit, and responsibility of the provincial leaders in implementing measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, so that the epidemic situation has been controlled so far.

According to the report, the number of new cases of Covid-19 in the province tends to decrease. It is accumulated to July 31, 2022, Dong Thap recorded 50.674 cases of Covid-19. Since April 26^th 2022, no deaths have been recorded. The cumulative number of completed treatment cases is 49.471. New cases of infection have mild symptoms that are mostly monitored at home.

In addition to controlling the epidemic situation, the support for disadvantaged people affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in the province was also highly appreciated by the delegation. The province has supported 339.584 people, with the amount of over VND 504 billion,… in implementing Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP of the Government on several of policies to support employees and employers facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding the implementation of social insurance policies and laws, by the end of 2021, the province has more than 117.000 people participating in social insurance, of which 96.000 people join compulsory social insurance and 21.000 people join voluntary social insurance; an increase of more than 29.000 people compared to 2016 (up 33,39%). Particularly in the period 2018 - 2021, people who participate in voluntary social insurance are supported by the State with a percentage of the monthly payment according to the poverty line of rural areas with an amount of more than VND 08 billion.

However, social insurance policies have not yet covered all target groups; employers' awareness in executing laws and policies observance of social insurance is not strict; data sources have not been updated etc. Those are limitations in the implementation. In addition, some difficulties in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic over the past time were also mentioned at the meeting.

Mr. Dang Thuan Phong asked members of the Delegation to note province’ difficulties to summarize and submit to the National Assembly for consideration and resolution.
