Investigate labor and high-tech agriculture cooperation
That was the topic of the June 6 afternoon working session with Mr. Hongsun, Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KorCham), and Mr. Bui Xuan Quang, Chairman of An Duong Group, alongside leaders of provincial departments and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia.
Pham Thien Nghia, the Provincial People's Committee Chairman, welcomed and collaborated with the delegation.
The chairman of KorCham, Mr. Hongsun, revealed that Korean businesses were increasingly investing in Western region provinces and cities, such as Dong Thap. As a result, KorCham will benefit from today's working session by having a better understanding of Dong Thap's strengths and potential, which will pave the way for Korean businesses to invest in the province.
Mr. Hongsun wishes to learn about investment in the fields of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, and labor cooperation to work in Korea and trade some Korean agricultural products such as fertilizers, machinery, etc.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs provided information about the situation regarding sending workers to work abroad for a limited time, while the leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment discussed Dong Thap's potential, strengths, and investment attraction policies. Approximately 1,200 of the province's 11,000 workers who have left to work abroad have gone to work in Korea.
Mr. Pham Thien Nghia presented Dong Thap's logo to Mr. Hongsun
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thien Nghia said that Dong Thap was one of the leading localities in implementing the Project on Restructuring the Agricultural Sector, aiming at sustainable green agricultural production; effectively implementing the program of sending laborers to work abroad for a limited period of time with the spirit of "Going to work - Coming back to be the owner"; gradually improving traffic infrastructure; infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters ready to welcome investors, etc.
The Provincial People's Committee Chairman expressed his hope that Mr. Hongsun, in his capacity as Chairman of KorCham, would serve as a link between Korean enterprises and Dong Thap to investigate investment opportunities. He also reaffirmed the province's commitment to establishing all the necessary favorable conditions to attract investors, including Korean investors.
