Central Retail Vietnam expands the supermarket system in Dong Thap

The Central Retail Group in Vietnam has opened two supermarkets under the Go! brand in Hong Ngu city and Thanh Binh district, and is currently building the first supermarket in the Lap Vo district.

In an effort to broaden its network of operations in Dong Thap, the Central Retail Group in Vietnam's leaders met and collaborated on the project investment proposal on June 18 with Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mr. Tran Tri Quang, and leaders of provincial departments and People's Committees of certain districts and cities.

Dong Thap is a key location in the group's investment plan, according to Mr. Olivier Langlet, CEO of Central Retail Group in Vietnam. As a result, Central Retail Vietnam wants to investigate and finance future projects, such as a supermarket chain in the districts of Thap Muoi, Chau Thanh, and Lai Vung, as well as a commercial and service building with the Go! brand in Cao Lanh city.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Cao Lanh city People's Committee, and several districts examined the appropriateness and prerequisites to guarantee planning when investing based on the investment areas that the group had suggested.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia expressed his happiness at Central Retail Vietnam's decision to invest in Dong Thap and complimented the company for its previous cooperation in purchasing agricultural products with the province.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, asked Central Retail Vietnam to provide a detailed investment proposal paper. The local government will examine the relevant legal processes and carry out the next measures so that the investor can start working on the project shortly.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia introduced and expressed the desire that Central Retail Vietnam will further investigate and invest in the remaining Dong Thap localities in addition to Cao Lanh city.

A representative of the Department of Industry and Trade responded to the enterprise's request regarding the proposal to install rooftop solar power systems to meet the self-production and self-consumption needs of Go! Hong Ngu and Thanh Binh Supermarkets. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently submitting the draft Decree on Self-Production and Self-Consumption Rooftop Solar Power.
