Proposal to implement the pilot of community tourism according to the Pak Ro model
On the morning of July 26, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Phuoc Thien and leaders of relevant departments received and worked with the delegation of C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company on the development of the OCOP program in Dong Thap.

The delegation of C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company surveyed in Tram Chim National Park to learn about tourism and cultural activities of the community and the development of OCOP products in Tam Nong district.
Thereby, Mr. Supree Baosingsauy - Member and Advisor/ Former CEO of the Rural Life Development Fund of C.P Group shared about the community development model combined with tourism in Tam Nong, especially tourism associated with the Red-headed Crane in Tram Chim National Park, and it is from that foundation to promote the OCOP program in the direction of Thailand's Pak Ro model.
In addition to listening and sharing, leaders of departments are also interested in the Thai Government's support policies to promote community tourism; the process of building and developing the model; experience in waste treatment in tourism to contribute to environmental protection.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Phuoc Thien thanked the delegation of C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company for taking the time to survey and share valuable experiences for the province; at the same time, it is hoped that in the near future, the Company will support the province with research materials, consulting to build a basic framework for the model in Tam Nong; connecting social enterprises and training human resources, developing local community tourism, etc.

The Pak Ro model is developed according to the Philosophy of "sufficient", the motto of agricultural and rural development of Thailand. The model is concretized through projects in 02 groups: Self-sufficiency Agriculture Project and Rural Development Project. In the Subsistence Agriculture Project, the government encourages farmers to rationally plan their production land on the basis of diversifying crops and livestock to serve local needs. For rural development projects, Thailand focuses on improving infrastructure, education and health in rural areas, helping to improve the quality of life and reduce poverty. |
