Dong Thap delegation to study Marne-la-Vallée urban planning
Within the framework of the work program in France, on November 20, the delegation led by Mr. Phan Van Thang Permanent Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee visited the city of Marne-la-Vallée. The visit aims to learn about the planning, orientation, development investment and urban management of one of the most modern satellite cities of Paris.
Gustave Eiffel University – one of the destinations of the delegation
The delegation visited specific functional areas, including education and training areas, residential areas with diverse architecture, and a unique "forest in the city" model there. In particular, the delegation visited Gustave Eiffel University, which is implementing many typical research projects on urban development, modern transport infrastructure development and environmental improvement solutions, etc. The delegation also had access to advanced construction technology testing facilities, opening up many new directions in applying technology to sustainable urban development.

In addition, the delegation also explored the mechanism of ordering scientific projects and topics between the state, universities and businesses. This mechanism has been implemented synchronously, creating a close connection between scientific research, practice and entrepreneurship of students. These projects not only solve practical problems but also promote innovation, opening up great opportunities for the younger generation to directly participate in the process of economic and social development.
Giving his speech at the visit, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Thang expressed his impression of the outstanding development of Marne-la-Vallée; at the same time, emphasizing the importance of learning experiences in urban planning and management. He hopes that the valuable lessons from Marne-la-Vallée's model will contribute to improving the efficiency of planning and investment in Dong Thap's urban areas.

In addition, the Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee also assigned functional sectors to study standards on training and study abroad, in order to create favorable conditions for Dong Thap students to access high-quality educational institutions there. In addition, he expected that the visit would open up many opportunities for cooperation and development between Dong Thap and international partners in the future.
Marne-la-Vallée is one of five satellite municipalities built by the French government in the 1960s to support Paris in terms of specific functions. The metropolis is now the center of many research institutes, universities, financial and tourism institutions. The modern and sustainable development of Marne-la-Vallée is considered an ideal model for many other young cities to study and apply.
