Delegation of Yokohama City, Japan greets provincial leaders
From the beginning of 2024 until now, Dong Thap province (the Department of Construction is contact person) has had activities to promote technical cooperation with Yokohama City, Japan in the field of drainage and wastewater treatment.
On the afternoon of December 24, the Yokohama City Delegation, led by Mr. Kenya Endo - Director of the Department of River and Drainage Management, visited the leaders of Dong Thap province. Mr. Tran Tri Quang – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment welcomed the delegation.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang welcomed the delegation and said that over the past time, Dong Thap province has had many close cooperation with Japanese partners in many fields. Particularly in the field of drainage and wastewater treatment, the Department of Construction has had 03 times working with the Department of River Management and Drainage Areas of Yokohama City to promote technical cooperation. With Yokohama's extensive experience, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the delegation will advise on many technical solutions for the province in the field.
Sharing with leaders of Dong Thap province, Mr. Kenya Endo said that Yokohama city has developed a drainage system with 11 wastewater treatment plants in the past 50 years. In particular, the government always focuses on creating consensus and support of the people through propaganda and advocacy in a variety of forms.

In the future, the two sides can promote cooperation on ideas, technologies and solutions to reduce carbon emissions in wastewater or take advantage of wastewater sources to generate new energy - Mr. Kenya Endo informed.
In the near future, in Hanoi, the Department of Construction and the Department of River and Drainage Management of Yokohama City will sign the Minutes of the meeting, as well as participate in the Technical Cooperation Workshop in the field of water drainage.
