Dong Thap delegation visited and worked in Korea
A delegation of Dong Thap province headed by Mr. Pham Viet Cong, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs and other provincial departments, met with Korean districts and cities from December 9–13 to discuss the possibility of sending workers there for a brief stay.

As a result, the delegation visited and learnt about the labor needs in HongCheon district, Gangwon province; Yangju city, Gyeonggi province; and Chilgok district, North Gyeongsang province.
Local officials in South Korea stated that by 2025, each district would require approximately 1,500 seasonal laborers to work in the agriculture sector, mostly producing ginseng and harvesting vegetables and fruits, and that the demand for seasonal workers will rise dramatically in the future years.
Therefore, Korean localities want to work together, choose and deploy workers from Dong Thap province to work while also committing to implementing labor protection circumstances in accordance with Korean government regulations to achieve maximum benefits for workers.
Mr. Pham Viet Cong stated that Dong Thap has a large labor force; from 2018 until the present, it has sent 1,200 seasonal laborers to work in Korea. Dong Thap has extensive expertise selecting and training human resources to operate abroad; workers' understanding and experience are constantly improving, and they are trusted by foreign organizations and partners.
Dong Thap desires to collaborate in sending people from the province to work in Korea, not only to earn a good living but also to help workers contemporary agricultural production practices and the working culture of the "Land of Kimchi," Mr. Pham Viet Cong explained.
The delegation worked with leaders of Chilgok district, North Gyeongsang province.
During the working tour, the delegation also worked with businesses in HongCheon district, Chilgok district, and Yangju. Businesses want to work with the province to train and develop high-quality human resources, build raw material areas, and promote the export of Dong Thap province's important agricultural goods, particularly lotus and chili.
Furthermore, Daegu Health College (in Daegu City) seeks to collaborate with the province to establish a university nursing training program and send interns to study and work in Korea.
Korean localities and businesses have announced that they will soon visit Dong Thap to learn about and develop specific cooperation on the topics addressed by the two sides during Dong Thap province's working trip.
