Leaders of provincial departments and branches report on the implementation of their tasks

According to the report from the General Statistics Office, the socio-economic situation in the first 04 months of 2025 continued to show positive changes and improvements in most sectors. Specifically, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.3% compared to the same period in 2024; mobilized capital is estimated to reach VND78,400 billion, an increase of over 17%; state budget revenue is over VND2,800 billion, achieving over 28% of the 2025 estimate; the industrial production index is estimated to increase by 8.11%; total export turnover of goods is estimated to reach over US$647 million, an increase of over 19% compared to the same period.

Disbursement of public investment capital by April 30 was over VND1,300 billion; 256 new enterprises were established, with a total registered capital of over VND2,900 billion. So far, the total number of operating enterprises in the province is estimated to be around over 5,300 enterprises.

Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, as of May 01, localities have started construction on over 1,700 houses (reaching over 75%), completing 1,094 houses (of which 530 were newly built and 564 were repaired).

The work of administrative unit arrangement and streamlining the apparatus has been directed and implemented decisively by the province, ensuring quality, on schedule, and according to the roadmap stipulated by the Central Government.

Besides the achieved results, some issues related to the local socio-economic situation have arisen, such as: High exchange rates and interest rates continue to be a major barrier for export businesses; the construction and processing industries face difficulties with raw materials, especially construction materials; public investment disbursement is lower than the same period in 2024, some projects are progressing slowly, etc.

Directing the tasks in the coming time, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang requested the Departments, branches and localities to focus on implementing the conclusions and directions of the Central Government and the province, including accelerating the implementation of the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation, the Project "Building Dong Thap to become a pioneering and model province in ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers by 2030".

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all branches and levels to constantly monitor the market developments to promptly inform enterprises; focus on resolving difficulties and obstacles to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital; monitor the progress of private investment projects; shorten administrative procedures to create favorable conditions for people and enterprises; and advise on effectively preventing and combating corruption and waste.

In addition, the branches continue to focus on and resolutely organize the implementation of the Plan to rearrange administrative units and build a 2-level local government to ensure the progress and roadmap set out; prepare conditions to well organize the 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam in 2025; effectively carry out information, propaganda, disease prevention and control work, etc. - Mr. Tran Tri Quang requested.
