Up to now, Dong Thap has recorded 8.283 cases of Covid-19, the current number of patients being treated is 416. There are 112 commune-level localities expected to become the "new normal". The cumulative "green areas" recognized by district-level People's Committees are 115 areas.

Until September 28^th, there are 03 localities namely Tam Nong, Thap Muoi and Tan Hong district, which have basically controls the Covid-19 epidemic (no community cases have been recorded in the past 14 days or more) and 05 localities have no community cases for 07 days or more.

Regarding the vaccination against Covid-19, until September 29^th, the province has injected 422.734 doses (1^st injection: 326.577 doses, reaching 27.65% of the population; 2^nd injection: 96.157 doses, reaching 8,14% of the population).

Supporting for target groups is also concerned with over 95.000 freelance workers supported (over 143 billion VND) and nearly 4.000 employees temporarily suspending of labor contracts, taking leave without salary (total amount of nearly 15,7 billion VND).

Expressing his excitement, however, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee – Mr. Le Quoc Phong also notes that departments and localities need to make effort to maintain control to minimize the number of infections, thereby consider changing their status in the next few days.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Mr. Pham Thien Nghia requests that in the coming time, all localities and departments/branches continue to strictly and effectively implement the tasks of epidemic prevention and control; do not neglect, do not leave “gaps”; proactively prepare a plan for the period after September 30^th in which emphasizing that no matter what status is, it must be well controlled and maintained.
