This requirement was emphasized by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, at the regular meeting of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee for August 2026 on the morning of September 14.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan concludes the meeting
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested that the 8.21% goal growth rate be maintained in 2026. As a result, during the final four months of the year, all sectors and domains must develop particular growth scenarios for each sector, area, and product, as well as explicitly identify tasks, solutions, and implementation deadlines. To enhance the effectiveness of investment resources, a strong emphasis must be made on the disbursement of public investment funding, with investment projects being completed and operationalized first.
In terms of production development, it is vital to improve competitiveness and capitalize on industry's leading role; agriculture must shift firmly toward increasing added value, which is linked to processing and markets. In the service and tourism industries, efforts should be made not only to increase the number of tourists, but also to increase average tourist spending and length of stay. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee urged departments, agencies, and localities to prioritize rapid administrative processing, speedy resolution of challenges and impediments, and creating favorable conditions for citizens, businesses, and investors.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasizes key tasks to boost socio-economic development
In addition to completing the targets and tasks for 2026, the province needs to lay the foundation for 2027 and subsequent years. In this regard, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan requested resolute implementation of tasks regarding transport infrastructure, synchronized investment, and strengthened rapid connectivity to expand new development spaces. Concurrently, digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation must be vigorously promoted in governance, administration, public management, and socio-economic development.
With limited time remaining between now and the end of the year, the entire political system must maintain high concentration and work in the spirit of "6 clear” principles: clear person, clear task, clear timeline, clear responsibility, clear deliverable, and clear authority. Dong Thap does not lack potential, resources, or opportunities; the key requirement now is to act faster in translating those potentials, resources, and opportunities into concrete projects, products, and values to foster socio-economic development, the head of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
