To honor the specialty fruits of Dong Thap province, the Mekong Delta region, and the entire country, while simultaneously strengthening the promotion, introduction, and connection for the consumption of specialty fruit products in both domestic and international markets, contributing to the socio-economic development of Dong Thap Province and other localities in the Mekong Delta region, the People's Committee of Dong Thap Province has issued the plan to organize the first Dong Thap Fruit Festival in 2026.

Dong Thap province hopes to accomplish the following main goals through the Festival: enhancing and respecting the reputation of Vietnam's distinctive fruit sector, thereby advancing the lovely image of Dong Thap, the Mekong Delta region's towns and provinces in particular, and Vietnam as a whole; assisting in the development of tourism, trade stimulation, and investment; orienting consumers about the quality, origin, safety, and nutritional worth of Vietnamese fruits; establishing favorable conditions to link different players in the Vietnamese fruit industry's ecosystem, such as companies, producers, state management organizations, scientists, the credit-banking system, and logistical service providers.
