Tháp Mười district is 90km away from Hồ Chí Minh city, 95 km away from Cần Thơ city and 32km away from Cao Lãnh city. Tháp Mười disrict borders Long An province to the Northeast; Tiền Giang province to the Southeast, Cao Lãnh district to the southwest, Tam Nông district to the North. It covers an area of 517.66km2, accounting for 15.25% of the area of Đồng Tháp province and occupying 8.22% of the area of Đồng Tháp Mười (Plain of Reeds). Tháp Mười has a population of 136,876 people.
