The Pink Lotus Land - Dong Thap Marathon will take place in October 2026

The People's Committee of Dong Thap province has just issued Plan No. 690/KH-UBND dated May 21, 2026, regarding the organization of the Pink Lotus Land - Dong Thap Marathon 2026. This is a large-scale sports and music event officially named VPBank Pink Lotus Land Music Marathon 2026, with the overarching theme "Pioneering - Breaking Through".

Accordingly, this unique running festival combined with music will take place continuously from October 09 to October 11, 2026, in Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province. This year's event is expected to attract approximately 15,000 athletes competing in distances of 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, 05 km (including 2,000 child athletes). The opening ceremony will take place at 18:00 on October 10, 2026, at Van Mieu Square (Dang Van Binh Street, Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province).

Participants in the race include all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners currently living and legally working in Vietnam who meet all health conditions. Registration will be open from July 24 to the end of September 25, 2026.

In addition to the official race, at Van Mieu Square, visitors and locals will experience an exhibition space showcasing OCOP products and typical specialty products of Dong Thap. A unique cultural highlight accompanying this is a Southern-style culinary space named "Flavors of the Homeland Converge" combined with digital communication activities and a QR code experience program to explore famous scenic spots. At the same time, a series of exchange music events and special art performances will be continuously organized from the main stage to mobile music stations arranged along all race routes.

This year's race also carries profound humanitarian significance by integrating activities to donate funds and promote support for the fund implementing the Project on Conservation and Development of Sarus Cranes at Tram Chim National Park.
