Dong Thap provincial delegation visits and extends New Year greetings to Champasak province

On behalf of Dong Thap province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan extended his best wishes to the leaders of the Party, government, and people of Champasak province for a happy new year and continued achievements in 2026 and the following years.

Mr. Somboun Heuangvongsa - Vice Chairman of the Champasak Provincial Government Committee expressed his joy and honor in welcoming the Dong Thap provincial delegation to visit and extend traditional New Year greetings at the beginning of the new year. Mr. Somboun Heuangvongsa provided information on the province's economic development in trade with Vietnam in general and Dong Thap province in particular; he also introduced many potential areas for cooperation and investment from Champasak.

Leaders of Dong Thap province present gifts to leaders of Champasak province

On behalf of Dong Thap province, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan affirmed that in the coming time, they will continue to coordinate and soon proceed to re-sign the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two localities; at the same time, he proposed that the leaders of Champasak province continue to pay attention to promoting trade, investment, and business connections; strengthen linkages for sustainable agricultural development, adapting to climate change; and expand tourism cooperation associated with the East-West economic corridor. Especially, connecting trade through the two international border gates of Dinh Ba and Thuong Phuoc of Dong Thap province via Cambodia to Laos, creating a smooth trade route to strongly promote the strengths and potential of the province with the southern provinces of Laos, including Champasak province.

Based on the tradition of solidarity and good cooperation, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that the friendship between the two localities of Dong Thap - Champasak will "forever be green and eternally sustainable," for the benefit of the people of the two countries, and for peace, stability, and development of the region.
