Dong Thap Provincial Delegation visits and extends New Year greetings to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos

Speaking during the visit, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan informed the Embassy leadership about the results of the visit to 03 provinces: Champasak, Salavan, Khammouane, and the orientation to continue strengthening exchanges and promoting socio-economic development between Dong Thap and the localities of the friendly country in the coming time. In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee provided further information on the socio-economic development situation of the province after implementing the 02-level local government.

Simantaneuosly, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan emphasized that, thanks to the support of the Embassy, the cooperative relationship between Dong Thap province and Laos has been increasingly consolidated and developed; exchange activities, people-to-people exchanges, and trade cooperation have received increasing attention and been effectively implemented, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between the 02 countries.

From the achieved results, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan expressed his desire to continue receiving support and guidance from the Embassy on important matters in the coming time. Specifically, supporting Dong Thap province to strengthen connections and cooperation with Lao localities, especially border provinces and sister provinces, to develop border trade economy, economic exchanges, and agricultural cooperation; supporting business connections for investment, business, and tourism promotion, especially building tourism routes linked with the southern provinces of Laos.

Through this, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hoped that the Embassy would pay attention to and promote diplomatic efforts with competent authorities in signing the Protocol between the 03 countries of Viet Nam - Cambodia - Laos regarding the trade route from the 02 border gates of Dinh Ba and Thuong Phuoc of Dong Thap through Cambodia to the friendly country of Laos.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Nguyen Minh Tam, expressed his gratitude to the Dong Thap provincial delegation for visiting and extending traditional New Year greetings at the beginning of the new year; at the same time, he informed about some important results in the past regarding the implementation of foreign affairs tasks and citizen protection.

Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam also shared the Embassy's orientations for the coming time so that Dong Thap province can proactively coordinate in planning, such as: increasing scholarship support for Lao students; building a school or medical station for Salavan province; sending experts to directly guide in the fields of cultivation and animal husbandry, etc.
