The Dong Thap provincial delegation visits and extends New Year greetings to the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Pakse

During the visit, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared information about the socio-economic situation of the province after the merger and the province's development orientation in the coming time. In addition, Dong Thap province hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Pakse with key contents such as: creating conditions to connect partners and localities to promote cooperation between Dong Thap province and Lao provinces; providing information on markets, policies, and investment opportunities in Laos; supporting trade and investment promotion activities and people-to-people exchanges, etc.

Especially, the proposal to connect trade through the 02 international border gates of Dinh Ba and Thuong Phuoc of Dong Thap province via Cambodia and to Laos, creating a smooth trade route to strongly promote the potential and strengths of the province with the southern Lao provinces in the coming time.

Ms. Ta Phuong Dung sincerely thanked the delegation for visiting and extending New Year greetings to the Consulate General; at the same time, she also informed about some outstanding achievements of the Consulate General in promoting the combined strength of the overseas Vietnamese community, businesses, and organizations. In addition, the representative agencies have played a bridging role, promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnamese provinces and cities and the governments of the 04 southern Lao provinces; at the same time, congratulating the achievements of the Party Committee and government of Dong Thap province in the past term, especially the successful organization of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

After the exchange, Ms. Ta Phuong Dung hoped that Dong Thap province would continue to coordinate well with the southern Lao provinces to effectively implement the signed MOU, maintain exchanges of delegations at all levels; support scholarships for Lao students; call for support from potential investors in the province to invest in southern Laos, especially in the fields of agriculture, logistics, tourism, and infrastructure construction, etc.
